CDE offers more compact DRDP (2015) Preschool Fundamental View

The California Department of Education (CDE) has created a more compact preschool view of the DRDP (2015) entitled the Preschool Fundamental View. This view contains the five domains required for preschool-age children plus the English Language Development (ELD) domain when indicated. Please note that conditional measures are marked with an asterisk.

Early Education & Support Division (EESD) posts update to Management Bulletin 15-03

Management Bulletin 15-03: Learn about DRDPtech requirement for 2015.  Sign up for DRDPtech now!

Beginning in the 2015–16 program year, EESD-funded agencies are required to use the DRDPtech© to obtain psychometrically valid reports. DRDPtech©, a secure cloud application, is provided free of charge to: (1) EESD-funded programs, (2) California Head Start programs, (3) California School Districts and County Offices of Education, and (4) California Tribal Child Care and Development Fund Child Care.Use of DRDPtech© will also meet the record retention requirement. This means no paper copies of the instrument are required for individual children when assessment data is stored in DRDPtech©.

MB 15-03 provides guidance on the implementation of the DRDP (2015) assessment to the California Department of Education (CDE), Early Education and Support Division (EESD) programs and Special Education Division (SED) programs serving children from early infancy to kindergarten entry.

All About Young Children: Information for Families on Children's Early Development

The EESD is pleased to announce the online publication All About Young Children: Information for Families on Children’s Early Development. This publication provides resources for families based on the California Infant/Toddler Learning & Development Foundations and the California Preschool Learning Foundations. Parents and family members can find out what skills help children from birth to five learn, how they learn language, how they learn about feelings and relationships, how they learn about numbers, and how they become skillful at moving their bodies.
