Regional Desired Results System Training (Invitation Only)

CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATlON/EARLY EDUCATION AND SUPPORT DIVISION -- DESIRED RESULTS SYSTEM TRAINING

The California Department of Education, Early Education and Support Division's (CDE/EESD) Desired Results (DR) Regional Training will offer hybrid training for administrators. The hybrid training model includes one-day, in-person training in both September, October and April with online training throughout the year for completion. The in-person training sessions consist of an eight-hour day offered in three separate locations.

The administrator training incorporates an overview and in-depth information about the Desired Results system; the implementat ion of the system at the classroom, program, and agency levels; reporting including analyzing self-evaluation data and using data for quality improvement; and additional support on specific components of the Desired Results system. Participants also complete selected online modules found at \Wl w.caearlyc hildhoodonline .org (CECO).

For experienced administrators, EESD offers the opportunity to attend a full-day session in September and October, as well as webinars in the spring on the program self-evaluation. The online training session for experienced administrators includes methods to support implementation of the Desired Results system, updates, and new products and jo b aids. Registration is required.

The full-day session in September or October will consist of four breakout session opportunities. Participants may register for two sessions which will include the following topics:

  • Using CDE Publications and Resources for Training Staff
  • Supporting Teachers in Using DRDP Data, the Foundations and the Frameworks to Support Children's Learning and Development.
  • Utilizing CDE Training Resources to Train Staff to Support Dual Language Learners
  • Overview of the Desired Results System (Required for New Administrators)

Registration for administrators will be on a first come, first served basis determined by the following priorities:

  • New California State Preschool Program (CSPP) contract awardees
  • Recommendat ion of CDE/EESD Field Services Office (FSO) consultant
  • New program directors and site supervisors
  • New administrators responsible for conducting the agency's professional development

The in-person, one-day training session dates for administrators are as follows:

  • Sacramento, September 28, 2017
  • Fresno, October 5, 2017
  • Los Angeles, October  10, 2017

The online training session dates for administrators are as follows:
Online sessions:  9:00-11:00 a.m. OR 3:00-5:00 p.m.
November 8, 2017
January 17, 2018
March 7, 2018
Attendance is required for all dates

The FINAL in-person, one-day training session dates for administrators are as follows:
Sacramento, April 11, 2018
Fresno, April 18, 2018
Los Angeles, April 25, 2018

The online training session for experienced administrators will be offered once in May 2018. May 2, 2018: 9:00-11 :00 a.m. (Cohort 1) or 12:00-2:00 p.m. (Cohort 2)
Administrators may select one of the cohort sessions.

Please note these training sessions are limited to CDE/EESD funded agencies receiving this letter.

College credit:
Credit for one academic unit ($100) or 1 continuing education unit ($75) is available for the new administrator trainings. Academic unit requirements include attendance at all sessions, completion of selected online modules, completion of a final report, and an assignment.

Please complete the online registration no later than Friday, September 22, 2017. Registration directions are enclosed. Confirmation letter and venue information will be sent in August and September.
